This is my story.
I attended the Brooklyn Latin School Open House. And I somewhat dropped my MetroCard and didn’t realize it. Then, when I got to the Montrose station, I realized it was missing. I kindly told the man at the booth my MetroCard was missing. He replied, “So?”. I told him, “I’m a student.” I told my mom he wouldn’t let me through. After arguing with my mom, he STILL refused to let me go through. He was afraid if something happened to me, he would have to take responsibility. I’ve taken the train for years! I know not to talk to strangers etc. He would’ve kept me all night in BUSHWICK, probably the worst neighborhood in all of Brooklyn. If it weren’t for a woman who felt pity for me, I wouldn’t have got home. Now that you’ve heard my story, do you think workers in train stations are rude?

I live in Metuchen, NJ and am going to a New Year’s Eve party in Bay Ridge. The place I am going to is in between the Bay Ridge Avenue and 77th Street Stations off of the R. However, it would be dumb for me to take the train into Penn Station and then take the subway to Brooklyn, a 2 hour ride each way, when I can drive and Valet Park which will only take me 30-45 minutes going over the Outerbridge and the Verrazano.
What would everyone else do?
