I have been helping others find apartments and guiding them into which areas they should or shouldn’t get apartments in. But now that it is time for me to actually take the plunge myself (by myself), i’m feeling pretty clueless. Other then the obvious areas (i’m from Brooklyn Heights) such as Carroll Gardens Brooklyn Heights, Park Slope, Bay Ridge, what are the truthfully safe neighborhoods that i’d at least feel decent about traveling at night back to my apartment if i lived there? I’m gonna be getting out of school in the city at around 10 pm. I know that some of our neighborhoods are better then others, but i’m really not sure how shady or safe they are because i’ve never actually lived there and everything is changing. I know how to get around, so i’m willing to live anywhere in bk if it is genuinely safe. Can anybody go down the list for me and give me the truth? Thanks in advance.
Thanks to everybody who answered me you were all very helpful. I actually looked at an apt in midwood by the f train and neighborhood wasnt bad i’d feel comfortable there. I think I want to find something in bay ridge more then anywhere else right now though.
