How Long is the R Train Commute?
National Alloy asked:
I am moving into a place near the last stop south on the r-train in brooklyn, the 95th st bay ridge stop. About how long is the commute into the city? say, to the prince street stop? Also, I heard the R has spotty service sometimes, anyone know anything about it?

About 59 minutes. You’re right, the R train is spotty, so estimate that it may take up to ten minutes to get an R train — usually they’re reliable during commute times, though.
Yes, R train is very slow because it makes all stop from Forest Hills, Queens via Lower Manhattan to Brooklyn’s 95th St. It about 59-62 minutes, but sometimes construction work can delay up the service, also passenger holding doors open, and lots of more.
However during late night, (R) is only shuttle to 36th St while 95th St-bound runs express from 36th to 59th Sts.
