What Area of Brooklyn Do You Suggest Moving To?

My husband, 16 month old son, and I are thinking about moving to Brooklyn because my husband got offered a job there. We are looking to find a safe area to raise our son, and possibly another child in the near future. What area would you recommend living at?
We have done research on some areas like Park Slope, but Park Slope is out of our price range. We are hoping to spend about $1500 for a two bedroom. What are you thoughts about Sunset, Bay Ridge, Prospect Park,… or any other area you think will may be suitable for us?

my uncle lived in Bay Ridge three years ago. He liked it a lot and it can’t be too dangerous as I visited him on my own when I was still a teenager. I have a budget of $1000 or $1100 for a one bedroom and from the looks of it a place there might be possible. Your price range seems to work out from a quick glance at Craigslist.
do you know any safe place to live in brooklyn near A train or L train?
