How Far is It From NYC to Coney Island?

Coney Island is in Brooklyn which is part of NYC.

While Coney Island is actually within NYC, I’d assume if you’re visiting the city you mean from Manhattan. Assuming further that you’re staying in the Times Square area, it’s about an hour by subway to Coney Island (and an easy trip: take the N train from Times Square directly to the Coney Island – Stillwell Ave. stop).

By car it’s around 15 miles, but still likely to take an hour and would be about a $40 cab fare each way if that’d be your choice.

There are a few skating rinks in the city. For example, Sky Rink at Chelsea Piers is open through the summer. The famous rink at Rockefeller Center is not.

coney island is in nyc Brooklyn to be exact. so bascially it isnt far at all just take one of the bridges into brooklyn and youll be there pretty quick

My friend, Coney Island is a go 45 to 60 minute subway ride from Midtown, Manhattan. Several subway lines terminates at Stillwell Avenue-Coney Island, which is right across the street from Nathan’s and the Promonade. They are the “D”, “F”, “N” and “Q” train (Orange and Yellow Lines on the subway map).

In regards to the ice rinks being open in June,they’re not. Both the Ice Rink at Rockefeller Center and the Wolman Rink are close in late March or early April. However, there is an indoor rink at the Chelsea Piers Sporting Complex that is open year-round that will be very helpful. I’ve included a link to the Wonderland on Ice rink at the link below.

Do us a favor and tell us what part of NYC you are going to stay in, and that way I can tell you how long it’ll take you to get to Coney Island from where you are staying.

Also, there are different ice skating rinks in NYC. Can you tell us which specific rink you are talking about, or where you want to go ice skating?

If you are thinking of the one in Rockerfeller Center, that is not open in June.
