How Much Does It Cost to Get Into Coney Island ?
David E asked:
How much does it cost to get into Coney Island ? Is there a general admission to get into the park or do they charge per ride or something ? How late is the park open on 7/25 or 7/26 ( a Tue & Wed )

Astroland in Coney Island? That may cost some money. But, you don’t have to pay to get into Coney Island part of Brooklyn.
its free
you just pay for the rides and its open eveyday and from moring to like may 12am at nite
It is completely free.
It is free to walk around on the beach, the boardwalk, or the amusement park area, Astroland. According to the Astroland website, the amusement park is open daily from noon to “late evening”. During the week, you can pay $22.99 and ride all the rides as much as you want (except the Cyclone and the Bumper Cars – you are limited to 4 rides and 2 rides of each of those, respectively) from either 12-6 or 4-10 M-Th, or 12-6 on Friday. Individual rides range in price from $2.50-$5.50. The Cyclone is $6; a re-ride is $4. Check out the coupon in the link below for some discounts.
While you are at Coney Island, here are some things you’ll want to check out:
- Cyclone Rollercoaster
- the old shooting arcade: You shoot at the little target with a rifle, and when you hit it, the chickens cluck or the bear stands up and growls, etc. Classic entertainment.
- Shoot the Freak: This now-classic Boardwalk attraction involves renting a paintball gun and shooting at a guy running around trying to dodge behind barrels and stuff.
- the Freak Show: Good, old-fashioned, insect-eating, sword-swallowing, contortionist fun.
- the original Nathan’s: have a hotdog
- have some knishes and corn-on-the-cob, too
- NY Aquarium
HAVE FUN!
Coney Island is not an amusement park – it’s a neighborhood. In this neighborhood are amusement parks like Astroland, as well as independent rides, games, restaurants, etc. There is no charge to visit Coney Island, but of course you pay to go on rides, play games, or eat food.
You just pay for the rides
