stfu asked:

What are some of the more decent areas of Brooklyn to live?

I am thinking and looking at Williamsburg. So far, that’s the only one i know of that happens to be safe and decent.

My school is in Greenwhich Village and I want the easiest access, without having to live in the city, because obviously i cannot afford it :)

i’ve heard about park slope? is that any good?

also, i do not know too much about brooklyn, but i have heard there happens to be very shady areas. can you tell me the shady areas to stay away from!

Well, the best areas of Brooklyn to live in are Greenpoint, Williamsburg, Prospect Heights, Park Slope, Dumbo and Bay Ridge.

Park Slope is a good neighborhood, but its one of the five most expensive neighborhoods to live in in terms of living in Brooklyn.

Greenpoint and Williamsburg are two neighborhoods that have the shortests commutes to get to the Village.

In terms of shady areas, just pay more attention in any industrial areas at night, and same as the parks. Otherwise Brooklyn is a safe place to live in!

If you got any question about Brooklyn, message me here and I can provide you an answer off the top of my head.

Edit** As a favor, don’t listen to that idiot directly below me ( that idiot being Drewluke). A real New Yorker and a real Brooklyn damn well knows that Brooklyn Heights is not the best part of Brooklyn to live in. Brooklyn Heights is full of rich snobs that don’t know sh*t about Brooklyn and NYC, and those people in Brooklyn Heights are just as stupid and snobby as your typical Manhattanite.

Also, the idiots that live in Brooklyn Heights think they are superior to the rest of Brooklyn, but at least us real Brooklynites are the real heart and soul of New York City. Besides, Robert Moses liked Brooklyn Heights when he was alive, so when Robert Moses likes a neighborhood, its a given that the neighborhood is full of idiots.

Well, the absolute BEST place in all of Brooklyn is Brooklyn Heights, but, if you can’t afford Manhattan, then you probably can’t afford Brooklyn Heights, either.

So, if you can find an “el cheapo” apartment somewhere in Brooklyn Heights, go for it, or, otherwise, your best bet will probably be Williamsburg, because it’s a really easy commute from there to the Village.

Good luck, and the link below is to a map of the subway route from Williamsburg to Greenwich Village…

Well, you have Brooklyn Heights, Downtown Brooklyn, Park Slope, Greenpoint and Fort Green. Among others. Most these neiborhoods are with an easy subway ride to the Village.

Good luck

Don’t be so sure you can’t afford it. When you add the cost of carfare, or if you are silly enough to try to keep a car, you might be surprised. When I got out of grad school I compared living in NYC to Forest Hills. In FH I needed a car. When I dumped the car living in the City was cheaper.

The other issue is working late at school on a project and taking the train at 2am. Not a prospect I would look forward to.

My advice on going to school in the Village: cut, cut, cut from your budget until you can live in the Village. You will be happier and safer in the long run.

Hello Webmaster, I noticed that http://www.brooklyn-estates.com/northern-brooklyn/williamsburg/school-manhattan-living-brooklyn/ is ranking pretty low for some keywords, this may be due to the new Google Panda update, or it could be due to a variety of other factors. I’m sure you already know about On-page SEO, where Google cares highly about proper formatting of various H1/H2/H3 tags, having your main keyword appear in the beginning of your post and having your post end with the keyword, along with having keyword related alt tags and very relevant LSI.
