Ok mack, I’m a real and native Brooklynite, and I know these nieghborhoods better than the back of my hands:
Bushwick: The Northern part of Bushwick is safer than the southern part, but just keep an extra eye out on things.
Red Hook: If you go there at night, just keep an extra eye out while walking near where the factories are. Otherwise, it’s a safe place.
Canarsie: Its not so bad, but just keep an extra eye out while you are in Canarsie.
East New York: Its just about the same as Carnarsie, but the most dangerous area is where the A,C,L and J stop at Broadway Junction/East New York Station.
Bed Stuy: Its safer than East New York and Canarsie, but be a little more attentive.
Flatbush: Flatbush is safe, but when you are there at night, just be a little more careful in the industrial sections
East Flatbush: Follow the same steps as Flatbush.
Park Slope: It’s very very safe. Its one of the most well to do and trendiest neighborhoods in Brooklyn, so you have nothing to worry about there.
Clinton Hill: Clinton Hill is pretty safe, but watch out near any factory areas at night.
Prospect Heights: Prospect Heights is also safe, and its safer on the side near Vanderbuilt Avenue and Grand Army Plaza.
Brooklyn Hieghts: That is a very safe neighborhood and is also trendy and full of more well to do people compared to other areas of Brooklyn.
Greenpoint: It’s a very safe neighborhood, especially that it has gone through the process of Gentrification.
Williamsburg is the same as Greenpoint, but be careful near the factories along Wythe, Berry and Kent Avenues at night.
Crown Heights: The side of Crown Heights near Prospect Park and along Eastern Parkway is safe, and the rest of the neighborhood is not so bad.
Midwood: Midwood, for the most part, is safe.
Brownsville: Brownsville is near Crown Heights and Bed Stuy, but keep an extra eye while in that area.
Cypress Hill: Its not completely safe, but just keep an extra eye out while going there.
However, all of NYC is safe. The days of high crime rates are way way over with, and the NYPD does a wonderful job of keeping all of NYC safe.
Bushwick- Can be dangerous at times, but most of the time, it’s pretty cool, with a heavy Spanish presence and culture.
Red Hook- Used to be dangerous, is still worn down, but with all the fairway/ikea shit, it’s becoming better.
Carnarsie- Decent. Not the best hood, but it’s not East NY either.
Fort greene- My skool, Brooklyn Tech is in dis area. It’s nice, a lot of brownstones, and hipsters, but sum parts can be dangerous.
East New York- Just stay out. it’s for your own good. i’m not kidding either, ENY is the face of ghetto Brooklyn.
Bed Stuy- Some areas are deadass horrible, but it’s becoming better.
Flatbush- Can be dangerous, but it’s not “OMG” horrible either.
Park SLope- Yuppie Land. Trees, toddlers, and Brownstones. Really safe, but the teens love to smoke pot and shit. but it’s a rich area.
Clinton Hill- Pretty cool.
Prospect Heights- Some parts are nice, not too bad.
Brooklyn Heights- A smaller version of Yuppie Land.
Greenpoint- never been round dere.
Williamsburg- clogged with hipsters who think deir so urban and shit, wen in reality, dey taking da real urbaness of Williamsburg.
Midwood- Has a suburban feel, mostly Jewish.
BRownsville- smaller version of ENY.
